Governor Kitzhaber has outlined a $5.56 billion budget for K12 schools for the 2011-2013 biennium--we are currently operating at about $5.8 billion. This means more cuts to public education for the next two years.
The next step in the budget process will be for the Co-Chairs of the Joint Ways and Means Committee to release their budget in the spring.
Public Educators need to let legislators and the Governor know that investing in public education is the path out of our economic crisis by attending:
